Chlorophyll TikTok Hype for the Skin

There has been a hype, on TikTok, about people clearing their skin from acne by drinking water chlorophyll every day. Let’s look at what experts have to say.

What is Chlorophyll?

Chlorophyll is the pigment that gives plants their green color. This pigment, or molecule, enables the ability for a plant to create its own food with a process called photosynthesis. The best explanation I found was from National Geographic.

We humans can get chlorophyll by eating green plants and supplements. The latter has been proved to be more effective in terms of absorption. (Healthline)

Chlorophyll is high in vitamins C, A, E, and K, and has antioxidant properties which help fight free radicals. That means it is helpful for fighting red inflamed acne (not the cystic one).
